Recap: Cahill wins Metrolina Classic

On Saturday-Sunday, April 30th-May 1st, the PKBGT will play the Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, SC.  The course is home to the Winthrop University women’s golf team.  The filed features 58 players from six different states in the Bell and Futures Series.  Congratulations to Kasey Owenby (Gastonia, NC 2019) for her hole-in-one on the 155 yard par 3 sixth hole! 

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the second round of both series was canceled and the Bell Series was cut to an 18 hole tournament.  The Futures Series tournament was unable to be completed due to course closure.

Winning the Bell Series was Caroline Cahill (Wilmington, NC 2017) with a round of 72.  The runner-up was Haeley Wotnosky  (Wake Forest, NC 2018) with a 74.  In third place was Madison Isaacson  (Greensboro, NC 2018) with a 76.  In a tie for 4th place with a 77 were Michelle Harn (Charlotte, NC 2019) and Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2017).

The PKBGT returns to action next week for the Pennsylvania Classic at Heritage Hills Resort in York, PA!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
