Recap: Wotnosky Wins Precision Junior Girls’ Championship

On Thursday-Friday, June 23-24, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the PGS JR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP at Bryan Park Golf Course (Champions Course). Bryan Park, home to the University of North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans golf teams, is a fantastic venue for the fourth championship event of the season. The event features a field 36 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour.  

Winning the Prep Series today with a record-breaking tournament round of 69 on the Champions course was Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) with rounds of 74-69-143.  In second place matching cards was Kathryn Carson (Mooresville, NC 2017) with rounds of 73-71-144.  In a tie for third place was Emily Hawkins (Lexington, NC 2018) and Riley Smyth (Cary, NC 2018) with rounds of 74-71-145 and 73-72-145 respectively.  In a three way tie for fifth place matching cards was Beth Ann Townsend (Greenville, SC 2017), Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC 2018), and Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019) with rounds of 84-74-158, 76-82-158, and 77-81-158 respectively.

Winning the Futures Series was Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019) with rounds of 78-83-161.  In second place was Kelley Topiwala (Matthews, NC 2020) with rounds of 82-81-163.  In third place with rounds of 88-77-165 was Erica Boyd (Charlotte, NC 2020).  In fourth place was Siana Wong (Summerfield, NC 2020) with rounds of 86-80-166.  In fifth place was Emily Brubaker (Raleigh, NC 2020) with rounds of 91-76-167.  In sixth place with rounds of 86-86-172 was Alyssa Cox (Mount Airy, NC 2019).

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
