Preview: Black-Eyed Susan Classic at GSV Hunt Club

On Tuesday – Wednesday, June 28-29, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Black-Eyed Susan Classic at Green Spring Valley Hunt Club. The course hosted a USGA US Junior Girls Championship and is a fantastic course for Mid-Atlantic Series finale. The top-three finishers in the the Mid-Atlantic Series will receive invitations to the 2016 PKBGT Invitational. The event features a field 27 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Prep Series field features 14 golfers, highlighted some standout players on the 2016 PKBGT Performance Index, including: Lena Capoccia (Bethesda, MD 2018) ranked 21st, Casey Morrow (Mars, PA 2017) ranked 68th,  Bailey Davis (White Plains, MD 2021) ranked 75th.

The Futures Series field features 13 golfers, highlighted by some standout players on the 2016 Futures Series Order of Merit list, including: Sophie Simon (Potomac, MD 2021), Elizabeth Coffern (Owings, MD 2020), and Alexis DiZinno (Alexandria, VA 2018).

The Black-Eyed Susan Classic brings together players from the Deleware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. It should be a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
