Recap: Boyd, C. Song Win SC One-Day Series @ Spring Valley CC

On Saturday, August 19, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the South Carolina One-Day Open Series at Spring Valley CC. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event featured a field of 36 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

The Champion of the Prep Series was Erica Boyd (Charlotte, NC 2020), after winning a scorecard playoff over Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019) Both players with a final score of 81 on the day. Just 4 strokes behind them was Jordan Guyton (Columbia, SC 2019), taking 3rd place. Tanking 4th place was Madelyn Richards (Blythewood, SC 2018).

In the Futures Series, was Cindy Song (Waxhaw, NC 2023) after a playoff against Abby Franks (Roebuck, SC 2023). Both ladies shot the low round of the day, 75. Finishing in 3rd place, with a score of 88 was Jessica Edwards (Moore, SC 2020). Mirabella Calabrase (Cornelius, NC 2019) shot an 90, finishing the day in 4th place.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
